Decoys have been proven to be a great asset when starting a purple martin colony. Investigating Purple Martins will see these decoys and will greatly increase your chances of starting a colony.
Another advantage of having decoys is to lure hawks into attacking this seemingly off guard bird instead of the Purple Martins at your site.
Clip on to house, perch, etc. to entice purple martins to visit your colony site. Decoy is made of durable plastic, the decoy has a swivel clip which allows several decoys to be placed in various directions.
Using several decoys works even better.
We also carry the HEATH decoy which is essentially the same except colored purple with a slightly different attachment clip.
