WindowAlert decals help prevent wild birds from accidently striking windows. Each decal has a special coating that reflects ultraviolet sunlight. This ultraviolet light is invisible to humans, but birds see it as a brilliant glow – much like a stoplight.
To the human eye, the decals appear as frosted or etched glass. The decals measure approximately 4” across, and are designed to be placed on the OUTSIDE of a window. As a rough guide, we recommend one decal for every 3’ x 3’ section of glass.
CONTENTS: 4 Decals per Envelope. TYPE: Static cling.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. WindowAlert decals may be used only on an exterior glass surface -- free of any overlay, tinting, film, or coating. (Most modern glass does not have coatings on the exterior; any coatings are safely located between double-panes. Contact your local glass contractor for confirmation.)
2. Clean glass first with water. Avoid use of chemicals such as ammonia or window cleaners.
3. Decals are best applied when glass is warm (ideally, above 50 degress Fahrenheit). If applied during winter months, clean glass with warm water prior to application.
4. Place decals alone or in groups every few feet on the outside of the window.
5. Position out of reach of infants and small children.
6. Restore static cling by rinsing decal in lukewarm water.
7. The UV coating may fade over time based on exposure and local elevation. Replace decals every 9 to 12 months.
